JK Moving & Storage Begins Holiday Season Helping Transitional Families

Sterling-based Company to Donate Moving Service To Homestretch Transitional Housing.

November 20, 2006—Sterling, VA—Single mother of two boys, Yvette Staggs showed great appreciation as JK Moving & Storage, the Washington area's top moving and storage company, moved furniture provided by Homestretch into her new apartment in Falls Church.

As the two boys continue their studies at school, Homestretch and JK Moving&Storage hurried about to prepare to give this holiday gift to the Staggs family. Just three days before the greatest meal of the year, Yvette studied the kitchen carefully ensuring it would be able to hold the Thanksgiving feast for her two growing boys. "It's wonderful to be in my new place," said Yvette Staggs, all smiles. "Homestretch and JK have made this so much easier for me. They are so organized, they planned everything and had it done so quickly. My boys are so excited. It will be nice to have it all settled by the time they get home from school."

Homestretch is designed to help families who are ready to move out of shelters into their own homes. One of the biggest dilemmas families face is moving belongs from the shelter and storage to their new homes. JK Moving & Storage has agreed to donate their services to provide the first steps in helping families get back on their feet. This is one of two moves JK has done already this holiday season. During the first week of November they moved a family of five into a newly refurbished apartment straight from a shelter.

"Simply put, it's great to literally give back to the community," said Chuck Kuhn, founder and CEO of JK Moving & Storage. "We've been in Virginia since infancy and plan on continuing to help out in anyway we can."
