JK Moving and Storage teams up with Moe's Southwest Grill in bringing holiday cheer to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
December 13, 2006—Alexandria, VA—For some soldiers, the holiday's are a bitter reminder for the loneliness they feel as the days
blur together as contact from home never comes. This year, with thanks to JK Moving & Storage, those soldiers will feel differently as care packages are sent this Saturday, December 16 from the Mt. Vernon Moe's Southwest Grill.
For the past two weeks community members have been giving of magazines, newspapers, video games, movies and TV shows, snacks and goodies and plain old pieces of Americana, to local Moe's restaurants. This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. employees of Moe's, JK Moving and Storage, Mt. Vernon High School, and others will be packaging up the care items. In the well-known white and red trucks, JK Moving and Storage will load the care packages to be driven to the post office where they will be shipped to "any soldier" in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I support the troops," said Chuck Kuhn, President & CEO of JK Moving & Storage. "No soldier should go this holiday season without receiving something from home. I am thrilled to be able to play a part in ensuring that comes true."
Affiliate Any Soldier Inc. was founded in August 2003 as a simple family effort to help the soldiers in one single Army unit, but overwhelming response lead to the creation of a nationwide organization whose efforts expanded to include any member of any of the Armed Forces in harm's way.
