From France to JK Moving
Jeanne Moss has been a valued member of JK Moving’s International team since 2016, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the industry. Born and raised in France, Jeanne’s career in relocation began almost by chance.
After spending a year in the US as an au pair, she returned home to look for a job and took on a role with AGS in Lyon as an International Relocation Coordinator in 2006. That opportunity sparked a career that would take her from Lyon to Paris, working for major moving companies like Grospiron, before eventually bringing her back to Lyon.
Although she briefly left the industry to work in her original field of study, she quickly realized that relocation was where she truly belonged. “Don’t we always say ‘you either love it or hate it’ – there is no in-between. I guess I love it,” Jeanne shares with a smile.
Finding a work family at JK
Jeanne’s journey to JK Moving was influenced by the strong professional relationships she built over the years. While working at Security Storage, she formed close bonds with colleagues, who she describes as family. When Suddath acquired Security Storage, many of those colleagues transitioned to JK Moving, including Phil Wells, who frequently spoke about how great the company was.
In 2016, Jeanne decided to join JK Moving, and she hasn’t looked back since. “It was the best decision for me and my family,” she says. “I work with awesome people who care about you. I am so grateful to work with people who are respectful, caring, and listening. They are my work family, and I would not trade this.”
Jeanne’s life beyond work
Jeanne’s dedication extends beyond the office. She moved to the U.S. in 2012 after marrying her husband, and together they have a son, Calix, born in 2013. They spend much of their free time on the sidelines of soccer fields and basketball courts, cheering on Calix as he plays travel sports.
“His love for sports keeps us busy, but we enjoy every moment of it,” she shares. Jeanne also loves reading, though she admits finding time for it can be a challenge. One of her favorite books is The Notebook.
Overcoming challenges and embracing growth
One of Jeanne’s proudest achievements is her ability to adapt to change. Moving to a different country and leaving her family behind was no small feat, but she considers it a defining moment in her life. “I guess moving to a different country is an achievement in itself,” she reflects. “But my biggest pride is my son. My husband and I are so proud of the young man he is becoming.”
Professionally, she thrives on the dynamic nature of the moving industry. “This field is tough, but what I love about it is that you do and learn something different every day. It’s challenging and hard at times, but if you like deadlines and a little bit of pressure, this is for you,” she advises those starting in the field.
Looking ahead
Jeanne’s personal and professional goals revolve around cherishing time with family. “I may sound a little cliché, but enjoying every moment with my family is my goal,” she says. She also hopes to visit her family in France this year and make the most of their time together.
When asked to share a fun fact about herself, Jeanne laughs and says, “I am an open book!” That openness and enthusiasm shine through in her work, making her an essential part of JK Moving’s International team.
Jeanne Moss’s journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the importance of community – both at home and in the workplace.
