JK Moving Services Expands Support for Military

JK Moving Services announced it signed a statement of support with the District of Columbia National Guard, and is the first moving company to do so.

The signing indicates it is committed to employing National Guard and Reserve members and supporting the reservists even while training and deployed, according to the Sterling, Va.-based company. JK Moving describes itself as the largest independently owned and operated moving company in North America.

“We are honored to deepen our relationship with the National Guard,” CEO Chuck Kuhn said in a company release. “JK Moving has a long history of providing career opportunities to veterans transitioning, active military members and the National Guard and Reserve. We value the leadership, reliability and dedication that armed forces members bring to our team.”

JK’s commitment to service members also includes participating in a new pilot program with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration that helps more qualifying service members between the ages of 18 and 21 obtain a commercial driver license.

Also, the company is partnering with the Army Reserve to provide soldiers with training opportunities. JK works with the Wounded Warrior Regiment located at Fort Belvoir, Va., to help those who have returned from combat missions to transition into the civilian sector. — Transport Topics
