Volunteers Turn Out to Support Community Farm

Thanks to scores of volunteers, the meticulously prepared rows at the JK Community Farm south of Round Hill are filled with seedlings—some 9,000 vegetable plants that will provide nearly 30,000 meals to residents in the region.

The JK Community Farm was founded to grow fresh produce for those who are food insecure in the Northern Virginia area. Friday was the first day of its second annual Plant-A-Thon, during which volunteers planted over 3,000 seedlings.
